McNab Park x Pyrrole Red (48 x 48 in / 121.92 x 121.92 cm)
This painting juxtaposes a bold solid stripe of Pyrrole Red, nearly bisecting the canvas, with the constrasting tones of a grisaille-style landscape. Adding to the narrative is an out-of-place solitary chair, inexplicably placed next to a bus shelter. Marking a pivotal shift in the artist's body of work, this piece is the first to incorporate color contrasting with the monochromatic surroundings to evoke themes of isolation and incongruity.
